报告题目:Soil fauna effects on organic matter decomposition: A black box to unravel
报告人简介:
Dossa is currently working at Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences where he completed his Ph.D. in Ecology in 2016. Dossa authored several scientific articles in top ecology journals such as Biological Reviews, Journal of Ecology, Soil Biology & Biochemistry, Methods in Ecology and Evolution, etc. Dossa's research seeks to mechanistically predict the fate of organic matter whether from leaf, wood, or roots, focusing on the important but unconventional methods (CO2 efflux measurements to examine decomposition rates) and integrating the neglected role of bark in wood decomposition along with the contribution of fungi, termites, and other arthropods to decomposition in tropical environments. Dossa's objective is to extend and test the hypothesis of afterlife effects of plant traits and how the traits of a particular organ (e.g., wood) could be influenced by those of another, unrelated organ (e.g., bark)? Moreover, what are the afterlives of other neglected plant growth form dead materials?
