Dr. Song，美国 Boston University获得博士学位，主要利用遥感、GIS及模型来研究生态系统的结构、功能和动态，曾主持NASA、美国国家自然科学基金、美国国家林业局等多项交叉科研项目，现任UNC地理系副教授，曾先后在Journal of Geophysical Research, Remote Sensing of Environment, Landscape Ecology, Ecology Modeling 等国际重要刊物发表多篇经典文章，其中一篇被引用次数达521次。
